Dr. Donald Gass (1929-2005) was a pioneer in ophthalmology. He was widely recognized as the premier medical retina specialist in the world.

Dorothy Johnson graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BSN in 1942. She was the outstanding student in her class and received the Founder's Medal. After graduation she joined the faculty of the Nursing School at Vanderbilt.
