Description
Eugene Fowinkle, M.D., M.P.H., joined the VUMC administration in 1983 as Associate Vice-Chancellor for Medical Affairs. Before this he served as Tennessee's Commissioner of Public Health for three decades. During his years at Vanderbilt, 1983-1999, he worked closely with Dr. Ike Robinson on the expansion of programs and services at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Dr. Fowinkle passed away in 2011.
