The Nashville nurse cadet ceremony consisted of 370 cadet nurses, including 108 from Vanderbilt. St. Thomas and Nashville General hospitals provide 89 nurses, Meharry Medical College provided 57 nurses, and Protestant hospital provided 27. In all, 96,000 cadet nurses were inducted simultaneously nationwide, and the US surgeon general conducted the swearing-in over NBC radio. Browse related items
