Adams Subject The topic of the resource Cardiology Description An account of the resource Dr. Crawford Adams was a prominent cardiologist, bibliophile, and sportsman. He was a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine. He served in the US Air Force during World War II and moved to Nashville in 1947 where he became a prominent cardiologist. He served as a member of the clinical faculty at VUMC throughout his career. Crawford Adams was an avid collector of rare medical books. He was an authority on Vesalius and medical books that had fore-edge paintings. Dr. Adams donated his Vesalian collection to the Historical Collection in the Eskind Biomedical Library during the 1990s. Dr. Adams died in Nashville on December 13, 2003.
