G. Canby Robinson
George Canby Robinson served as dean of the Vanderbilt Medical School during its growth and expansion in the 1920s. Dr. Robinson is credited for establishing the new Vanderbilt as one of the foremost medical training facilities of its time.

This picture was taken in the doorway of the "new wing" entrance to Preventive Medicine and the dean's office, at the formal opening of that building. Dr. Robinson returned to Vanderbilt for the occasion.
